Nuru

This project started as a silhouette for a previous class project that I did not end up following through with at the time. For a Character Design class, I brought her back to complete a mythical creature project. In the spirit of the assignment, I fully embraced her animal side and drew inspiration from spiders, praying mantises, and red Japanese spider lilies for the final look that I later modelled in 3D with ZBrush and Substance Painter.

The Aces

These four characters are ones that are involved in the story that takes place in the world I am developing through the course of my personal worldbuilding project.  Lore-wise, these four are mages of high standing within their society. Their current designs are laced with references to their personality and the the role that they represent. Each character is tied to one of the four suits or the joker and the elements of their clothing callback to this rank. This specific look is a take on their formal wear which would be used during special occasions.  These character designs are still in progress.

Ocean Specialized - Clean Up Apparatus (OS-SCA)

A synthetic aquatic robot creature with the intended use of oceanic waste collection. I designed this final result after a few sketch iterations with the build of a manta ray in mind. From there the entire creature was modelled in Autodesk Maya and textured in Substance Painter.

Miran

Miran began in the same assignment as Nuru earlier this year; however, Miran is the one I chose to further develop at the time. Her clothes and face have went through several iterations to get the final look. I was heavily inspired by the cultural aesthetic of Afrofuturism which I felt closely resembled her fantasy country of origin.

The Kepi

An assortment of initial sketches of minor enemies for a now discontinued fantasy game project with a few peers outside of classes. The lower level spirits, or the "Kepi," are living extensions of the worlds flora and took heavy inspiration from various real world mushrooms and seeds.
